Thanks so much! The frames are "museum matte" in Picasa. Super-easy + there's a color picker tool and you can adjust sizes, as well as make more than two layers:

Frost works well with the fog. I really like the first one. Those horses really anchor the foreground and make a very compelling composition. You got there at the right time of day. Well done.
