Here is an article about Nikons being purchased from unsavory places on the net. I thought all you had to worry about was grey market.

Thank you for the alert and the link. I wonder if this will extend to other Camera Models like the Canon 5D series?

It is a great illustration of buyer beware! I think it best restrict DSLR body buying to reputable sources like a local camera store, or perhaps Adorama, B&H, Hunt's, or direct from the manufacturer. If the money is not currently available it is (IMHO) better to delay gratification and save enough to buy for cash. I have found that the purchase is actually much sweeter that way.

I currently own both a D800 and a D810 so I would not be shopping for a D800E. None the less the caution is well worth filing in the "Need to Know" file. Thanks again.

Am I not understanding this correctly only the D800 is only slightly cheaper than the D800E and it hardly seems worth all the work for such a small profit.
