We had some points from our time share to use up before we lost them so we spent the weekend at Lake Tahoe. Here are a few snap shots of the places along the way. Hope you enjoy them.

Yes, I enjoy them very much, thank you......especially the last one. It almost has a HDR feel to it.....was it done that way by chance?

Hello Bret.
My professional Photographer friend loaned me a camera he rented for a photo shoot for the week. These are from the D810, and I thought the same thing when I began the processing of them. Now it gets to be serious G.A.S. time. I am almost there in my savings for the next upgrade. I am going to get the D4s I think, but with the results from this machine, I am not sure if I want to just get the 810 instead. I already have the 610 and also very pleased with the results from it, but these are pretty fun shot from the 810.
The clincher is that I really want the 10 FPS and low light ability from the D4.
Thanks again for the comment and viewing my post.

It is not that far from where I live, but I seldom, if ever go there. I pass through there on my way to NV, but never stop. Way too touristy for me. We hike the Sierra Nevada within 20 miles of there, but don't travel to the Lake or city.
It has some lovely spots though. It's just too bad one has to share them with 50 million others. LOL
I am glad you enjoyed the images.

Yes Douglass. It was mostly in the 20's and 30's, but we caught it right between the storms, so the weather during the day was quite sunny. Although, they are getting more warm snow, so it doesn't last long.

Thanks Earl. They were fun to shoot.
The river captures were right at the East end of the Tahoe airport. There is a wetland restoration project going on there. DFG (similar to the CSIRO down your way), is attempting to restore the original Aspen groves along the river corridor. They have quite a battle going on with the Beaver though. They are cutting them down as fast as they establish a hold.

I do notice a difference from the 610, but I don't know if there is enough to go that direction yet. Thanks.

Thank you for saying so. I had to eliminate the people who were at the falls, signage, and other human remains. There was a couple who decided to set up their camp stove and prepare spaghetti. I was hoping it wouldn't be too obvious.

Not obvious at all even after you told me... :) The elimination of such objects and people lets the viewer become part of a great landscape image instead of those that are in in it.... Great work!
