I looked into this house. The back door opened on a 100 ft cliff. Don't take a step.

Just like a roadrunner cartoon - it just needs an "ACME Cabin Rentals sign"

Great stuff - great pic (also technically good -which is bye the bye). I like to see how the colonialists are coming along - even if they don't pay their taxes. Cliff edges don't always protect - remember Quebec? I bet the frogs do! ;) Have a great Xmas - no more tea parties. (Just realised where you are - so we'll salute the Alamo)

You are correct Cliffs don't always protect. This was built during or before the Civil War and troupes were coming through the valley below this house.

You've packed so much into a short history - you deserve to come out of it as a great nation - and you have! :-)

Couldn't get to the cliffs because of all the brush. We were on a tour and eventually went down to the valley below. Our guide pointed to ware the house sat but couldn't see the house because of the brush. When we were taking pictures of the house I reached inside with my camera and tried to take a shot but couldn't get an angle that was of value.

Very good shot, Jim-Pops! We'll be seeing a lot of this type of "architecture" next week when we head for Virginia!
