No specific date but possibly the last couple of days of Dec. I guess depends on how many are shipped and how many back-orders there are.

I have and just called the store....the say they've not heard a release or ship date yet. I guess I'll wait and see.

Thank you, I had talked to B&H last week and they said they were getting
in 700 in their first pre-order shipment this month. I didn't get in on the
first shipment. They said there was as much interest and pre-orders as
there was in the 7DMKII. Watching for the big brown truck. mdh

I am sure it will be impressive, I loved the model it is replacing but after
seeing the changes in it I am trading up. I was able to sell my other 100-400L and one of my 7D's and apply some reward cards for my purchase.
That really helped me convince the wife that I didn't need to loose my
reward card money. Funny she never asked what I bought to get the
rebates and rewards. I read on one of the reports that this lens with a
1.4XIII extender was as sharp and good as the lens it is replacing without
an extender. Hope this is the case and hope you get one soon. mdh

Actually I just found out it shipped today!! That's the good news...The bad news is it's a Christmas gift from the wife so I won't see it until then...bummer :roll:

From whom did you order it? My husband just came in and told me to order the lens, 'Merry Xmas"! I'm more than excited , however we all know about the pre orders being filled before I ever see it :?

I took a chance and waited until Canon listed the lens as "in stock" on Friday and ordered it. Until then it was listed as a 'pre order'.It states free over night shipping with fed ex. Because I ordered it at 7pm on Friday of course that would equate to shipping on Monday and if the Xmas angels are with me, delivery on Tuesday. I can only hope!
