Has anyone had good luck or bad luck purchasing a refurbished Canon SX50? What was the condition of the camera. Any problems?
Thanks,
Jon
Buy it from Canon, and you can't go wrong. Refurbs there are often as new, and have a good warranty.
I bought a "refurbished" SX50 over a year ago. Actually, all "refurbished" meant that it was a display item. Since I bought it, it has performed faultlessly.
Hope this helps.

Am considering one too at $199 from Canon direct that's a bargain. Good thing I lost an e-bay bid on a used one for $272.
My current is a year-warrantied factory refurbished, Closing in on 7,000 shots - though that's nothing compared to the SX50 I wore out :)
I wouldn't hesitate to get another refurbished. They go through much inspection and testing.
More often than not, at Canon the refurbs are new returned stock, either from someone who tried it out and returned it shortly after purchase, or unsold dealer stock.
I purchased my refurb SX50hs from the Canon Store website several months ago@$249.99 and has recently been offered @$199.99. I was also apprehensive regarding purchase of a refurb product. Camera was received in a like new condition, functions normally in all modes and carries the original Canon Warranty. Cannot go wrong, watch for the $199.99 offer. Best deal out there if you desire a SX50hs.

I have had a refurbished sx50 from Canon for about 3 months now. This is my second sx50. The first developed a stuck shutter after 12.5 months of daily use. Canon replaced it with a refurbished one with full one year warranty.
It works just fine and looks brand new. Came packaged just like a new one, just has refurbished sticker on it.
I would not hesitate to buy refurbished from Canon.
I just got a refurbished SX50hs from Canon about 2 weeks ago. Looks and functions like new.

I saw one a fellow club member got from Canon. Full warranty, looked new!
don't know the shutter count.

Lots of bargains over there this week. SX50 $200. G15 $220. SL1 with 18-55 lens $360. Better than new, IMO. Got an S100 a few months ago, and it was as new for $130.

Too late, the offer expired yesterday, the 9th :(
I just clicked on the link, as I did this AM, and it still shows $199.99 for the SX50.

Strange, because the offer was set to expire last evening. Perhaps they still had stock and extended the offer. Ordered mine yesterday and supposed to be here tomorrow. Good luck if you order. It's an excellent deal.

Price for the SX50hs changes frequently! Keep reviewing daily the Canon Store website until the $199.95 price returns.
