Hi there, I am new to Ugly Hedgehog. I found the site quite by accident while randomly looking around for easy to read help with my new Nikon D5300. I seem to have stumbled onto something interesting. I am a custom home builder and woodworker, most of my photos are for finished work to post on my website. I love my new camera and look forward to being able to take it off the "P" mode, thanks for all of the good talk here.

Want to get your camera off of "P" mode? Most of us here recommend "Understanding Exposure, 3rd Edition", but Bryan Peterson:
