I had played with this image for days and put it on the back burner next to the delete bin as I could not get a result I liked. After a discussion lasting a few days with a member here who works in a different way to me I combined the two methods and at last felt it looked OK.
The sky is produced using the Photoshop HDR engine and the foreground is a Photomatix Tone Map. Combined with a layer mask.
Taken in very late afternoon and the sky just grabbed me

Nice shots. I'm surprised the wheels are so plain. Clever using two programs for different areas. The sky is beautiful.
Very, very nice Billy. A lovely result.

Thank you Jerry. These things are built on truck chassis or just steel box section using truck parts. Not many trucks with fancy alloys!!
Some have stainless steel inserts etc but most have a decorated body but plain wheels.
Thanks for your support my man I appreciate it very much

Its really all about practice my man. Photoshop is steep learning curve at first but once it drops into place you find it easy. Start slowly and you will get there.
Thanks for dropping by I appreciate it

Not over-cooked. I like it very much. I would not delete it.

The final image was well worth the effort. The HDR is just right and brings out the sky as well as the foreground.
