I bought a very well-built "generic photo backpack" on e-bay for 49$US. Mine had to come from China and took about 2 weeks to get to me; I now see that US companies are selling the same backpack, which means you will get it sooner.

Mine is big enough to hold to cameras, extra lenses, speedlight, etc.

This one is more expensive than the one I bought but it gives you and idea as to what it is: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Photography-Camera-Photo-Video-Equipment-Carrying-Case-Backpack-Canon-EOS-Nikon-/400818953941?pt=US_Camera_Cases_Bags&hash=item5d52abded5

I am looking for a backpack for camera gear as well. Has anyone used the Dolica DK-20 Medium Travel Camera Backpack?
Reasonably priced and holds two cameras which is what I need.
Appreciate any feedback. Thanks

I need a bigger camera backpack. I'd like to get one that can fit more than what I currently own. 1 dslr, 2 zoom lenses, 2 prime lenses, a flash unit, plus room for more stuff, carry a tripod, and lots of little accessories.
Are there any bags that are modestly priced? Anyone selling one?

If you only want to buy it once, search on the name "Pelican"...Buy one slightly larger than you think you might need. They are pricey, but your children will be handing them down to your grandchildren.

Go to eBay and specifically look at all the large backpacks you've considered....

You'll find a ton of the large ones for great prices. They are commonly listed after only one or two outings and are like new.

The sellers are very often people who "thought" they needed to "go larger" and overshot the mark. Take that as a hint... but....

You'll find a ton of virtually unused backpacks in all brand names being sold because they were too heavy to carry around.

Many of these LIKE NEW backpacks are selling for a FRACTION of the new prices you are looking at on the internet. Compare one large name brand model in LowePro for instance and then find the same backpack with limited usage on eBay... same model. I bet prices at 25 to 50% of the new listing on the LowePro site. Same with all other name brands.

Trust me... best buys on overbig packs!!! Go eBay.

I have the Lowepro Vertex 200AW. D7000/MBd11 with 400 5.6 attached(or not) 70-300 4.5-5.6, 18-105, sometimes 21-35,35-70 or 70-210, flash. Bogen 3221 strapped on the back memory cards and small flashlights. I never run out of room but sometimes run out of strength. Very durable and waterproof even includes a rain cover for the occasional hurricane.

I have the Tamrac Adventure 75 backpack, cost $99.95 in 2008. I have some back issues and even though it now weighs twelve pounds with all my stuff in it, I can hike without feeling the strain because it is so well balanced. I can also add my tripod to the back of the pack which adds weight but it balances well. It securely holds my Canon, five different lenses plus all my "trinkets" and lunch. I would buy it again in a heart beat if they still make them.

I've been happy with the AmazonBasics Backpack for SLR/DSLR Cameras and Accessories from Amazon.com. $29.99. I carry two bodies, 4-5 lens plus a lot of accessories in it.
