Thinking about installing Google Chrome. When I go to the internet, however, there are many sites that say it in not compatible with Win 8.1. How can I find out if it is really in fact compatible and where is a safe site to download from?

I've been using Google Chrome (version 39.0.2171.71 m) with Windows 8.1 for quite awhile.

Win 8.1 is good, Chrome is not.

If you want to trust what you do to a company that makes their money selling info, then go ahead and let them know about your every move. You are giving them valuable info in return for a "free" browser when there are so many other free browsers out there.

I have both. Both work together for most things. There are some things that do not work with Chrome. For instance, if you try to renew a New Jersey professional or occupational license on line with Chrome, it does not work (I do not know why). But for those things you would have Internet Explorer to fall back on. (I cannot wait until 8.1 is replaced, though!)

No problems using chrome on window 8.1 it's the pop up that get you. Another major problem is using 8.1, it a pain in the butt, I suggests you use fox fire Mozilla. Less problem plus if you use the email mozilla it's almost like using email express. You know 8.1 you have to pay to use the old internet express mail service plus other functions that were free with xp.

Chrome will work with Windows 8.1 but it is highly vulnerable to 'redirect' malware. I suggest Firefox. Much more secure.
