I have just picked up my 150-600mm Nikon fit lens, after a long, long wait. It is a pity that Tamron choose not to supply some form of case with their lenses. Their argument is that they assume people will keep it in a case with the camera, all very well but not when you don't require it on a shoot. I got the Optech XXL Snoot Boot, which fits fairly well with hood reversed.

Now you'll have to get out and look for things that are far away. As for cases, I remember when all photo gear came with a case.

Its a way of keeping the cost of good sold down, it also keeps the advertised price lower. But I agree if Nikon can include an awesome case Tamron should also be able to.

I had the camera store measure my 150-600 Lens and they ordered me a "LOWEPRO" case - 13X32 cm . The monster fits perfect in that case Hood ,filter and all. $42.99 - There will be shipping added to this price but its worth it - Good luck ....

For my Sigma 150-500 lens I picked a hard case with all the little foam squares you can pull out. It really keeps it protected. Also pulled out some for a couple of filters and a couple of other accessories.

Works great. Yes it is a little bulky. But considering it's not a lens that you keep with you all the time, it's a great storage device.

Just remember Grumpy, you get a 6 year warrantee with that lens. that's worth more than a case........ and don't be so grumpy!!

I have had the Tamron 150-600 lens for several months. Lately, I cannot use a remote shutter release on my Canon 5D III with this lens. Why?

Hello Grumpy I have the same Lens: I bought a bag for it. To get a lens of that range and quality I would have to spend at least 2 times the amount for a nikon Lens. I can live with spending another $30 or so for a bag. Im still ahead of the game by at least $1000.00

I also own this lens. Somethings I've noted about the 150-600mm lens vs the older Tamron 200-500mm it came with a case, but that is not all, on the lens hood there was a small wheel that made contact with a CPL filter. This made it easy to adjust the polarizer without removing the huge lens hood.

Cannot tell which lens you are talking about that has the wheeled lens hood.

Sorry. The lens hood I was talking about was on the Tamron 200-500mm lens. That hood had a wheel that mated up with a CPL filter. It allowed you to rotate the filter without removing the hood from the lens. The wheel was located in a slot where the end of the lens, near the front element. I hope this helps.
