Another waterfall in Yorkshire.

Another success of capturing your subject. The waterfall is nicely exposed such that it captures the motion of the water. The download is needed to see the delicate details of the area framing the waterfall.
I'm debating whether it would have been better to have moved the upper, cascading part of the falls, to the right just a bit, thus having the fall of water more towards the centre of the image.
The balance s quite nice, as the rock walls do keep things even from side to side, neither side attracting attention more than the other.

Hello Bob, I did fiddle with the centring of the water but it ended up this way... I never can make up my mind!
Thanks.

Very beautiful, magical shot Graham, just the right shutter speed to capture that water so that you can feel it properly. This is one shot that I won't fuss about being too dark, although it is, because too dark is what it appears to need. Wonderful processing of a fine capture. I am quite sure there are fairies in the shadows.
I'm thinking the dark brings out the beauty of the bright white and gives it balance. I have no desire to look into the nooks and crannies of those rocks, those details do not seem important to this image. Its all about the falls and the way the water flows and fans out is exquisite.

I like how the waterfall starts out up top looking to the right, then spirals down a bit before gazing with a leftward trend. For 2/3 of its fall it's looking left, so needs the bit of extra space you gave it on the left side.
I tried the "squint test" to diminish the dark detail, and much prefer the dark shadow detail you posted.
I recemtly saw another low-key waterfall that I'd like to hang in the same room with this one....on opposite walls!

Excellent, as usual. Just enough light in the dark areas to make it visible while keeping the attention on the falls.
What is the exif? Curious how long the exposure was.
All been said. Ill just add exquisite. I sincerely believe your images and your obvious knowledge to capture them and PP them to perfection afterwards would make a book or probably a DVD these days.

Hello manofhg, the exposure was 1 sec f/8, the exif is in the download.

Thanks. I did download it, but how do I see the exif?
Graham this is beautiful and spot on as are all of your pics. Well done!
Gorgeous Gorgeous Gorgeous! The lighting is perfect and you have managed to keep the detail in the waterfall while smoothing it's surface. The detail in the dark areas is perfect. I wouldn't mess with the composition. I think you have achieved perfection.
