CANVAS PRINT FIASCO

I have a problem. I've ordered some canvas prints for a client but I'm new at canvas print design. When I select the photo and order the canvas size 20x30, it turns out fine. When I order the same print in the 18x24 size canvas, the photo doesn't fit neatly in the box where you move the photo around prior to ordering it. The photo is too wide and I cant capture the sides of the photo. How do I shrink the photo in order to get the entire image to fit in the 18x24 size, or even smaller sizes?

You're dealing with two different aspect ratios. The only way to make that work without distorting the image is to crop your photo.

As already mentioned, you cannot fit a 2:3 aspect ratio image onto a 3:4 aspect ratio canvas without distorting, cropping or leaving blank space.
But, since you said even smaller, it will fit nicely on a 16x24 canvas. If you want an 18" side, the other side would need to be 27".
