At The Finish Kennel Club, Koira Mestari (which translates to “dog champion”), various breeds of canines are showcased in competition-style events involving obedience, concentration and speed. Judging by the looks on all of the human faces, this event seemingly leans towards being more lighthearted than your average competition. All of the handlers are young people who have lovingly and resolutely trained the dogs themselves in hoping to have their dogs named the most versatile dog in Finland.

In this clip, pulled from the seven-part “Young Masters Series”, you can watch the always-beloved golden retriever throw many months of obedience training out the doggy door in a furry failure of epic proportions. The frustration on his handler’s face speaks for itself, but oh… was it worth it for this particular pooch! Where some see “failure”, us animal lovers see “adorable”.

What would YOUR dog do if he or she was in this pup’s paws?

Pretty funny and not unlike a lotta Goldens I've been around.
I trained a couple spaniels for upland birding, the first was incredible, the second was as disciplined as that Golden in the vid! Lol!
Both were a treat!
Thanks for the post!

My Beagle is way beyond the Retriever as far as lack of obedience.

Our Lab Sopie can do all that and more. The more would be a gigantic dump on the carpet floor.

I already saw that once. But I had to watch it again. It is just to funny and cute. The dog was just doing his thing. I am not so sure if Remmington would not gotten down there in record time. Kinda hard to get mad at something so darn adorable.

Reminded me of our golden retriever Goldie. When he saw a little kid across the street eating an ice cream cone, he ran right up to the little guy, put his mouth over the kid's ice cream cone, inhaled the cone and ran back home, smiling all the way! It was then I realized Goldie's peak of retrieval was only in ice cream cones of various flavors! What a pooch!!!
