Sign me up as well!! My first bird shot with my A77ii, still have a lot to learn. I was using a Tamron 70-200, yes it is heavily cropped.
Hi all, I just bought a Sony A5000.....pretty nice little camera...
Ill ask this here to my sony family. I really like my a3000. Its a nice step up from the p510 (which i also enjoy alot). If i were to get a zoom lense (being budget minded) would going with the emount 55-210mm or should i invest in the alpha to emount adapter and go with alpha mount glass? In my searches i found e mount selections are not as numerous as alpha mount, and some alpha mount are less expensive. I do understand i would have to go full manual focus with adapter. Thanks guys....

Ask Imagemeister; He has the A3000 and a large selection of lenses.
The current A to E mount adaptor is the LA-E4 and it's $350!
But if you DO go this route, you can then buy some quality Minolta glass, as well as Tamron and Sigma lenses in the A mount, not to mention Sony and Carl Zeiss Sony lenses.
It IS something for you to think about. ;)

Not sure about how it would work with the a3000, but I believe it has a AF motor built into the adapter for AF on most a-mount lens.

^^^The LA-E4 does for sure.
The question is, does it communicate the information from it's AF sensor to the A3000 AF module?
I suspect it DOES, because the LA-E4 was designed to allow A Mount lenses on E Mount cameras like the A3000. The LA-E4 is essentially the AF set-up from the SLT-A57 (or 58; not sure which), including the screw drive, translucent mirror, and sensor array.
One would think that it would be fully functional on the A3000 like it is on the NEX series of cameras.
you can add me to your list.
Nex7 and 4 lens.
Mine is a 2004 Cybershot DSC-F828, otherwise known as "The Dark Angel". Also called the "Cult Camera" 'cause it's popular with members of cults.
Recently purchased a Sony A6000.... please add me to your list. :)

I will look into these. I dont really need a mega telephoto lens just on3 with a little more reach than my 18-55 has. I looked on b and h site they had some lenses that may fit that bill and not bust my pocket book. When i go back on their site ill post which ones have my attention. For now im still learning what i have. I did get an ebook for the a3000 from amazon. Ill have plenty of time now. Will be off my feet for the next two weeks lol.
