Mr. Manson was not "put down" because the beautiful state of CA abolished the "put down" (death) penalty. I think they do "put down" mad dogs, however.

I read that the CA death penalty was abolished for about 3 months back in the early 70's and that the decision was then reversed. Any prisoner that was on death row at the time, their sentences were converted to life without parole...but the "family" was getting parole hearings every few years. Also Doris Tate got wind of the fact that Tex fathered 4 children while in prison (after killing her daughter that was pregnant - where were Sharon's rights???) and fought to get congical (sp) visits stopped - and she did. My feeling is this girl is out for the exposure and I heard she wants charlie to get a new trial because she wants to prove that he's innocent.
