I have a number of lenses that I really love to have and to use. But, I also have at least ten K-Mount lenses I would like to sell. All are in excellent condition, and I'm curious as to whether or not anyone would steer me in the right direction, so that i might get fair remuneration for those lenses. I'm thinking of buying a PENTAX 77mm OR a Sigma 85mm with the proceeds of such a transaction. Thanks

Have you considered listing them here on the Hog's Buy/Sell/Trade - Classified section?

You may want to PM Carter at the Camera Cottage aka MT SHOOTER. I can't say for sure if it is anything he would be interested in but he might be able to give you some idea of what you can expect to get for your gear.

I've sold here on the hog too and Fred Miranda's site HERE.

I use ebay to gage prices as well but haven't sold there for quite a while.

No I don't. But that's one I would also like to have. Or the renowned 77mm 1.8

Of ten lenses I wish to sell, all are Pentax or made for K-mounting(Sigma, Tamron, etc,) but those sites, including the hog sales site, are nearly specific to canon or nikon. occasionally sony. In fact, I seldom read anything on UHH pertaining to Pentax gear. The "ugly hedgeHog is a great site for photo information though, and I'm here almost everyday to glean new(to me) info. Thanks to all that come here. RJM

With mirroless cameras like mine or sony, It's easy to adapt these pentax lenses.

Generally, used equipment RETAILS at max of 50% of the original cost, but if it is to be resold, the reseller wants to make a profit too --typically about a 35% minimum markup on his costs including the cost of any necessary cleaning and refurbishment.

Work backwards and you will probably not be happy with what resellers such as Adorama & B&H offer you, but that's the way it is. You might do better advertising the stuff in the Classified pages of your local paper, but I doubt you will get 50% of your cost.

If one of your local public schools has a photography program, you might be able to donate the stuff to them and take an Income Tax deduction for your original cost. Talk to your Tax Accountant first!

You are not going to get retail for these lenses, you should may get more from private sales, Keh Camera is a reputable business.

I prefer Keh to Adorama because they tell you upfront what you will get. Basically, if you find the lens on their site for sale you can get about 65% of what they are selling for.
