why like this shot

to me this is just a ho hum shot but i get a lot positive feedback on it i would appreciate feedback on why? I post the second shot just to share this is a spinner dolphin underwater shot with it's reflection off the surface of the ocean I prefer to focus on under water pics if you have tips or preferences I would would really appreciate any advice

IMO, the grouping of the three dolphins makes for an interesting shot. If I were to critique it, though, the horizon is tilted, the sky and far water overexposed. However, I think, with a little editing, you could have a really good shot.

The second photo is also interesting. I would never guess that was a reflection. Pity the tail got cut off.

As Selkii has pointed out, the horizon is tilted, sky overexposed, the use of a polarizer would have helped.
I would crop in tighter to the dolphins, removing sky and horizon, just my thoughts though.

Knowing the intelligence of dolphins, and with all the various movies and TV shows and places like Sea World, I think everyone has a soft spot in their hearts for these beauties.

So while #1 may have a couple of technical issues, it evokes emotion in many - like a cute kitten, perhaps :)
