Russian plane totally disables U.S. warship
Google EMP Woodbridge, VA and Blossom Point, MD. The Harry Diamond Co. took down the Air Force One helicopter from Quantico, VA with an EMP, and yes that was the Presidential helicopter. With the help of the local police and the Feds it was hidden till long after the labs were closed.
Possibly...........
http://libertyunyielding.com/2014/04/14/half-mcnamara-russian-attack-jet-buzzes-u-s-navy-destroyer/I found about 40 (I quit looking after that) sites with this, almost identical story.... most if not all from Anti Governmental blogs...
The Link I showed above speaks of the incident, but (at least in my reading) said nothing about the Russian Plane shutting down the Ships electrics......
IF it did, good to know now, as it will probably be needed in the future and can be (I am sure) be fixed so that it cannot happen again..

I can't believe the Russians gave away this huge advantage. Now that we know about it, we can better deal with it.
It seems to me that this is the kind of weapon you only bring out in war.
I would even add that if I were in charge of US forces, I would pretend it worked and that we were defenseless against it. I don't believe in giving info away for free.

I wouldn't take that article too seriously.
I do not believe this for one minute.

Since there was a Russian frigate also in the vicinity, it's not clear from this article if the radar and tracking equipment was effected from jamming equipment on the Russian frigate or from the Russian jet. Seems like this article is assuming too much from rumors or just plain fabricating facts from shore leave drunks. Shades of the "Philadelphia Experiment".
The claim of massive resignations seems a bit far fetched as well since enlisted men can not resign and it seriously seems unlikely that so many officers would resign over such a trivial incident. Ships in international waters get buzzed by aircraft all the time, especially when they're in hostile regions like the Black Sea or the middle east or North Korea. The aircraft was probably just doing photographic runs of the ship.

I agree that massive resignation of crew members sounds like pure fantasy. If it ever happened, which is most doubtful, it would be prosecuted as insubordination or mutiny. and it would carry with it heavy penalties The whole story sounds like a hoax.
When the Berlin Wall went down, that is when the new war started. Putin was a KGB head in Dresden and was burning papers and the furnaces blow up. Putin has never forgotten that incident. He called Moscow and they told him to shove it. That is one of the reasons we are with Russia where we are today.

An urban myth? I think you're right.
