Shot these about 3 weeks ago. This Air Expo was put on by the WWII Museum in New Orleans. Some very fine old aircraft.
The #2 photo is of a veteran that was a nose gunner in a B 17 Flying Fortress.

FiFi is a photo of a B29 Superfortress. The B52 is a jet Bomber from the Cold War era.

My mistake, you are correct. Did not look at my notes properly.

Great series! The B29 Fifi was here in Olympia, WA for the local air show in July. Got a chance to see her up close which means a lot as my dad was on a B29 crew in the Pacific in WWII.

Great series Don. The first picture, the Texas Raiders, does
that mean that the LA Raiders are moving to San Antonio?

Thanks to all that have viewed and for your kind comments. The expo took place at the New Orleans Lakefront airport. This is a small airport in eastern New Orleans. The rides were NOT cheap, went up to about $1700-$1900.
Will post more shots sometime today.
Thanks again,
Don

Don, I sure do wish I had known about it ahead of time. Hubby worked at Lakefront Airport for over 30 years. I think our granddaughter would have enjoyed the show. Poppy could have told her about all of the planes. The company he worked for has moved to an airport in MS since he retired. Too much damage from hurricanes over the years. Besides that the planes used offshore were always moved to MS for hurricanes anyway. Next time would you let me know?

I sure will Kathy. I saw it advertised in the Times Picayune news paper. There are two posts I did on the air expo. One was just New Orleans WWII Air Expo and the next was #2 at the end. The next shoot I am planning is 11/22-23/2014 at Camp Moore which is about 26 miles from Hammong up I-55. There will be a Civil War reenactment that weekend.

Oh boy that sounds like something I'd like to see. Will have to see if hubby has anything planned. He drives a school bus and on weekends when he can get it he does "Private Drives". That is when he drives the customer's car from their home and then back to there home. That way they don't have to worry about where to park and they can drink and not worry about getting a DWI. Then he also drives a limo for several different companies. Some of the things he tells me about from his limo jobs are soooooo funny. One time we went out to eat with some friends and he was telling them about what had happen the night before. There were 2 ladies at the table next to us and I thought they were going to fall off of their chairs laughing.
