Groan. I'm so old I remember when basketball was a white man's game...Boston Blackie was on television...the Shadow was on radio...Flav-r-straws...doctors made house calls and nobody had (or needed) medical insurance...cars had vent windows...grace was said by the class before eating lunch...in PUBLIC schools!.......(I think I'll stop now.....I'm starting to nod off......)

I am so old, that I was before TV. All there was, was radio, and most of that was bad. Ha.

Listening to the Shadow, volume turned way down so parents couldn't hear, with the lights turned off, because it came on after your bedtime.

I remember all of them. I learned to drive in a 1928 Model A roadster pickup. My brother built it from parts. That was 1960.

All 14. Thanx. I'll be 65 in 40 days.
How bout: 4 steel wheels on yur skate platform that U had to clamp on to yur oxfords? Then, experimenting by disengaging the clamps and nailing the skate to a short plank of wood to "surf" the sidewalk on yur improvised "bun board"? ( named such because that's where one spent most if his time - on his buns! )

Older Than Dirt Quiz:
Count all the ones that you remember, not the ones you were told about.
Ratings at the bottom

1. Sweet cigarettes
2. Coffee shops with juke boxes
3. Home milk delivery in glass bottles
4. Party lines on the telephone
5. Newsreels before the movie
6. TV test patterns that came on at night after the last show and were there until TV shows started again in the morning.. (There were only 2 channels [if you were fortunate])
7. Peashooters
8. 33 rpm records
9. 45 RPM records
10. Hi-fi's
11. Metal ice trays with levers
12. Blue flashbulb
13. Cork popguns
14. Wash tub wringers

If you remembered 0-3 = You’re still young
If you remembered 3-6 = You are getting older
If you remembered 7-10 = Don't tell your age
If you remembered 11-14 = You're positively ancient!

I must be 'positively ancient' but those memories are part of my life.

Lets add snow tires, "rabbit ears" TV antennas, curb feelers, fender skirts, and butch wax.

Cap guns w/ a roll of red caps.
"Made in Japan" was the norm for every cheap
item; like Xmas bulbs that dissolved
In your hand. In fact, that
Was the expression for " cheap".

Autos with the tranny hump on back floor.
Truck tech for turn signal was a wooden leaver
On a wire for LEFT turn.
Starter button under left foot
Rocket fin fenders; chrome bumpers
As thick as a guard rail.
No seat belts
Black n white squad cars
TV tubes
Families that ate meals together
Worshipped ea weekend together
We're all married
Respect for teachers and learning
" black sheep" of family had meaning
Docs made house calls
Polio whipped with a sugar pill
Dick Tracy wore a wrist radio ( what?!)
Sound barrier broken

" Heavens Shaken"

'Skate key'. Seemed there was only one skate key, per neighborhood. And, someone else always had it.
