warrior, if it is the same lens as at Amazon, you only need to send me $800 to get that lens for free. What a deal.
It will be just slightly more if we have to follow the shooter.

I have the 100-400 and I LOVE the trombone lens and prefer it so.... if all else is the same I will stay with my trombone zoom.

Wish it had come out last year. Didn't buy the 100-400 back then because I didn't like the trombone feature.
It will be interesting to see the reviews, although I must admit I've grown rather attached to my 150-500 Sig.

I will be sticking with my Sigma 150-600mm Sports models (both Canon and Nikon mounts) because of:
$200 lower cost
50% more reach
Ability to fine tune and customize performance via the Sigma USB Dock system.

But I am sure Canon has made optical improvements as well, and it does get the IS II upgrade. I am only surprised they did not announce it as a companion to the 7D Mk II body, seems to me they would make a very good pairing for Canon shooters.

That 150-600 is tempting! Wasn't too impressed with the 150-500 at first so while I was away for a couple of weeks on vacation I left it with a pro that I know. (Had a sneaky suspicion that the problem may not have been with the lens!). He gave me some pointers about it when I got back and now I am much more satisfied with it. Still, that 150-600...... :-D
