Living in New Orleans, we like our coffee strong, and dark. I drink "Community Dark Roast" but I also like Cafe De Monde.

FOLGERS! And I was surprised to see it's the biggest seller in the WORLD!

I also grind occasionally, a mild flavor preferred. Kona or Columbian that isn't roasted to a bitter charcoal, kind of like a good steak ya know. French roast is terrible in my opinion---yeccchhh!
Randy, in Concoiw, CA has a terrific site on coffee!

Also brew our own in our plastic pods. Current favorite is Starbucks "Veranda" Blond roast, especially when on sale. Pretty mellow blend. Very nice as is straight out of the Keurig with no additives.

All plastic poisons everything it touches, especially when heated!

I'm not a coffee drinker. There, I said it but, that was true last week, now I am. I have found two coffees that I love. Green Mountain Caramel Vanilla Cream and Van Houtte Butterscotch Caramel. (Yes, I know, with cream and Stevia, they amount to little warm milkshakes!)

What is your favorite coffee? Flavored or unflavored? What brand?

Thanks for sharing.

It is probably quite available here, but since I most often use a regular coffee maker instead of a Keurig, I must have just missed it. Will be sure to look now. Thanks!

Check out Bed, Bath, and Beyond stores. They sell lots of coffee in the Keurig K-Kups, including Green Mountain. Of course, if you don't have a Keurig coffee maker, then this won't work. I can't say that I've ever seen Green Mountain coffee sold in bags of beans or grounds, though.

Anything with Caramel is really good!!!! Haven't seen "Green Mountain" here around Houston. Is that brand primarily in your area or a somewhat national brand?

Order thru Amazon, that's where I get all my k-cups. :D

Eight o'clock Colombian peaks and Central Highlands mix the beans to taste and grind for each brew. I started with 2 Colombian to 1 highlands but my wife found it a bit strong, now I mix 3 to 1. Their Columbian alone is pretty good and reasonably priced (look for it on sale).

I am a coffee expert. First, flavored coffee is not the same as raw straight coffee. I get my coffee straight from Cook Island, Hawaii by a seventy year old man who picks, husk, and cooks only 200 lbs a year. I am 1 of his customers and I buy 5 lbs at a time. Ground coffee looses 1/2 its flavor to evaporation, grinding your own at time of brew releases all the flavor and oils which produce the true flavors. Never use a percolator as it cooks the coffee twice and makes it bitter. Use a drip, French press or gravity feed coffee maker. Steam can also be used to extract. Some of the best coffee comes for Hawaii, Jamaican blue, Indonesia, Sumatra and Columbia. I have had them all including Kopi Luwak which is shit from a tree cat and cost 125 a lb. Didn't like it. Ethiopian coffee is good but strong. Most commercial coffee is a blend of beans not a straight bean. If you buy a commercial blend be advised that A&P 8 o'clock was rated #3 of the coffee blends with Dunkin donuts being #1 in commercial blends. Yes fancy or prime coffee cost much more and the reason is the flavor. My coffee in bulk cost 22.00 a lb but if you love your coffee, its worth every penny.

For a coffee "expert" you miss two important points. 1. Burr grandees are the only way to grind. 2. You need a coffee maker that heats the water to almost boiling temp.

Green Mountain used to be small time coffee company until they bought the patent for the K-CUP and then purchased the whole Keurig company outright.
The company had insight and smarts both in advancing the company but also in setting trends and convincing the public of a convenient way to brew coffee. It's not cost effective though and some machines do not brew at the correct temperatures. The old French Press system works fine in a pinch.

If you like flavored coffees, then try KONA and add your flavor to taste.

I love everyone sharing their ideas here!

Is Kona coffee a strong coffee without flavorings? If so, what kind of Kona coffee do you like best? I have to find one in k-cups for my mother.

Thanx for all your input.

IMO, Kona is a very mild bean.
