Tidepools

Ever set out to get a particular shot only to have the scene not happen? Last May I got up very early one morning and headed for my favorite lighthouse to get some dramatic sunrise shot. It soon became evident that the clouds were not right for the explosion of pink I wanted. But I knew the tide was going out so I changed course for another beach I knew had nice tidepools. Eventually the sky took on enough character to make good reflections. Here are some of the unexpected results.

Tough to shoot these with a wide-angle and not split the horizon in half. These would be fun too, overexposed a bit and worked over in black and white. I like the last one the best, though several are very nice.
