This fire happened the next county to my East. More information will be released tomarrow at a press conference.

my condolences to all firefighters. i still believe that cops, firemen, and corrections officers killed in the line of duty should get their own memorial day. They just fought a different enemy than the military.

I agree. They are all emergency responders including the military since some of them are in these careers too. Flags have now been ordered to half-staff in the area until his funeral.
They do put their life on the line everyday. Sympathies to their family, friends, co-workers.
Many in my family are fire-fighters, police officers; fortunately, none have given their life in the line of duty.
I have Firefighters, Paramedics, Law Enforcement and Military in my family so for this to happen just the next county over hits a little too close to home. Once my brother is done with his shift at his fire dept tomarrow, I will be calling him for sure just to tell him I love him.
All fire-fighters/rescue personnel are HEROS.
I will be asking my dept to send my condolences and all others if wanted to the depts affected as there was 4 depts fighting the fire when it happened.
Look at who yhe first responders were to the tragic tornado;s of the last two days! The police/firefighters-Rescue/EMS personnel of this nation are Hero's! God bless and protect them all.
My brother Jim served a year in Viet Nam (Army) and received the Purple Heart. My brother Ed served a year in Viet Nam (Navy) at DaNang. I served 23 years in the Navy. My sister Pat and her husband Gerry were both dispatchers for the Chicago Fire Dept. Thier oldest Son is a Chicago Policeman and youngest son is a Paramedic with the Chicago Fire Dept. My middle grandson is an EMT with the Virginia Beach Rescue Squad. My oldest grandson is currently a BM-3 aboard the USS Anteidum CG-54. We understand service to our country. OOOPS!!! Almost forgot my son in law Mike who retired after 20 years as an Aviation Ordnance Tech.!!
Our condolences to the families.
My prayers go out for the family of LODD and for healing of the other two. Also included are the others of his shift and house and department.
