I just purchaed a Nikon D750. When I downloaded my pictures (shot in RAW format), my Lightroom shoftware said, "preview unavailable for this file"... Any suggestions as to how I can take care of this problem?

Use the Nikon dvd and convert the raw files to dng or tiff and import to lightroom. Lightroom doesn't have the file reader yet.

You need Adobe Camera Raw/DNG Converter 8.7 to process D750 images. An updated LR5 can do it, but I'm not sure if you can update LR4.

As stated, new camera means software will need to be updated as it becomes available. Will need new or update to ACR. Otherwise convert to DNG or TIF before importing to Lr. Same with Ps (but there you open, not import a file). Sounds like a great camera from what I've read.
