I am interested in knowing from current or past users/owners of a Nikon D7000 how you enjoyed the camera, or if you were unhappy with it why? I have a Nikon D7000 but have not used it yet. Thank you.

I upgraded from a D80 to a D7000 (refurbished). I firmly believe that the capability of this camera has made me a better photographer. The higher ISO allows for more flexibility in shooting.

You won't be disappointed.

I have three cameras, namely my iPad, a Sony point & shoot, and my Nikon 7000 with three lenses. Family stuff is done with the first two and "serious stuff", at least to me, is done with the Nikon. I find it very versatile and it has met my needs for two years. And I keep discovering more ways to use it.
I also have two books that help me get the most out of it.

I have a D7000. I like it a lot. I have issues of Popular Photography magazine that have test reviews of the D7000 and D7100. They show that the D7000 has better color accuracy than the D7100. You'll like it a lot.

I also have the D700 and I am learning everyday, what books are you referring to? Inquiring minds and all.

I moved up from a D90, which I gave my son.
I like the D7000 a lot. The dual memory chips allows you to keep a backup in raw format (Slot 2) while using Slot 1 to transfer photographs to your storage device, computer, etc.
The MB-D11 Multi Power Battery Pack is better than the one for the D90 as it doesn't have that "tower" on one end--it's relatively flat. It stores easier than the one for the D90 did. It gives you a second battery or the ability to use AA batteries in an emergency.
I have been doing a lot on Macro shooting and using the battery eliminator is great.
Get a Remote, I like the ML-L3.
This will be my last non-full frame camera. That said I am really stoked with the improvements over the D90, not that there is anything wrong with the D90...

I'll look into the remote. Thank you for taking the time to comment.

I didn't like it near as much as the D5100 I had before it. The D5100 took equal images.

I didn't like the button approach on the D7000. I had to find the buttons and then often couldn't see what I needed on the little green screen without reading glasses, which I normally do not wear. I much preferred the Info screen approach of the D5100. It also worked better in the dark. The D7000 has an Info screen but it isn't active like the one on the D5100.

I also appreciated the lighter weight and articulated screen of the D5100.

My wife still uses the D5100 and loves it.

The only thing I ended up liking about the D7000 was the viewfinder.

I sent the D7000 down the road after about 6 month. A D800 replaced my D7000. It has many of the same issues that I had with the D7000 and one more: no infrared input and a terrible design for remote shutter attachment. I figured out how to overcome the unreadable green screen with it...and maybe the D7000 had the same capability but I didn't learn it then. I set the on/off switch so the far position brings on the LCD on the INFO screen. Then when I push a button (still has the problem of finding the buttons; esp. in the dark) I can at least see what I need to do on the LCD. The D800 makes up for its weaknesses with image quality but I am currently holding back a GAS attack for a D750.

But if I wanted a DX camera I'd go for the D5300 over the D7000.

I loved mine. The only reason I sold mine was to get a D7100. D7100 is a great camera but for the cost difference I would have kept my 7000 to do over again. Both great cameras.

I stepped up to a D7000 from a D80 and love it. There is a bit of a learning curve to it though. I have also found that by upgrading to better lens (non DX type), I got a lot better results in sharpness. Overall I am very happy that I bought the Nikon D7000.

I have the D300 and D7000. Even though the D300 is a bigger camera and less in many ways, I am selling my D7000 and keeping the D300. I just felt I wanted a camera I could depend on to get the get the photo I wanted, and it would. Even though I do not use it much anymore, picked up an Olympus EM-5, of the 2, I enjoyed the D300 much more.

Here's a tip, grab your camera, use it, and find out for yourself.

i have 2 of the d7000 camera bodies ..use them almost all the time ..i see no difference in the quality of the photos from my d700 since i use the lenses that i have with both camera bodies..i have no desire to upgrade and the price for the d7000 is a lot lower than when i paid for mine...you won't regret having that camera..and i agree with jfn007 get out there and use it ..see for yourself ..it really is a workhorse of a camera..
