Deep breaths. Hang with it. Once you get used to where things are at, and your custom buttons and my sets set up, it'll be a lot easier. For me, I shoot 85% on aperture priority, 10% on manual, and 5% on the other modes.
This PDF should help too.

Also make sure your firmware is up to date.

Oh you're in for a wild but fun ride! My best advice:
1.Buy one of the books (by David Busch or Darrel Young, both are helpful)
2.Also, this website
http://www.biofos.com/mft/omd_em1_settings.html for good info about how to set the camera up.
3. Keep a little notebook where you write down ALL those custom settings you make so you can figure out what you did in case you create trouble for yourself (we all do). Also, once you update your firmware, or have to send the camera for service, it will lose all those settings. If you have them written down, you won't have any trouble setting things back in order. And if you really create a mess in there customising, do a reset to original settings and it'll clean it all out and you get to start over!!
4. If you need answers you can't find on UHH, try DPR's m43 or Olympus SLR forms, they have lots of experienced users of this particular camera.
It's a great little camera, will do a fine job for you, but you've gotta give yourself time to learn its ways. I have had mine about 8 months and probably know about half of what it'll do.
Thanks Cdouthitt, If you think of anymore let me know
