Well, it has been over a year since I lost Kansas, my friend of over 14 years. I have been searching for months for a new buddy. I thought I found one in an Appaloosa in Michigan but he had crooked front legs and I couldn't get past that. I'm glad I waited. I have put a deposit on a new horse, meet "Nugget". I won't get him home till the first week in December (he is in South Carolina). He is 18 months old. (That is NOT me in the photo!)

You got that right, he had the owner's daughter handling him and she was afraid of him, hence the chain. He was still a stallion at this point, gelded now but still not handled a lot. Only used a chain on my stallion a few times when he was being totally obnoxious, found out he did better with a rope halter and no chain. Never used one after that.

Thank you, now I have to figure out a registered name for him. I have a few figured out to choose from but nothing decided on yet.

I hope it turns out to be a great match for both of you. My first horse was a palamino, love this color, and he is exceptional!

Lynette,
I agree with everyone, what a great looking horse! I'm sure you will find a perfect name for him. I was going to suggest "Carolina" since your previous horse was Kansas, but since "Carolina" is "girly" name it wouldn't fit! You need a macho name! I hope that your new horse (whatever name you name it) will bring you another 14 years of happiness!

He is a solid bred Paint, meaning both parents are registered Paints but he has no color (white) himself. Here are the names friends have come up with so far:
Dusted with Gold
My Western Treasure
Gotta Lotta Gold
Paint It Gold
It's Raining Gold
Let me know what you think of them or , please, come up with some yourself and add to the pot. I am open for any suggestions.
Thanks for looking everyone.

Great minds think a like! I thought of Carolina too but rejected it for the same reason! I am hoping for more than 14 years of happiness, Kansas left WAY before he should have.
