This is one of only two Lancasters flying in the world. I saw it over my house and took a quick shot. I sent it to the local newspaper who awarded me a prize.
Excellant shot... Always wanted to see one in person, but the chances are getting slim...
There are 17 known largely complete Avro Lancasters remaining in the world with two airworthy. One of them is based in the UK, operated by The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight and the other is in Canada, operated by the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum.
I have watched the restoration of C-GVRA / KB726 at the Canadian Warplane Museum, and have seen it flown at Oshkosh.
They are truly a great aircraft. Your photo is wonderful, Great capture, and deserved a prize.
nice a rare sight. I saw one fly over once (at least i thought it was a lancaster) and couldnt believe my eyes(or ears)!
