I'm no advocate of distracted driving, texting, talking on your cell, taking photos and the like, but i think if you look closely at number one, you'll see that the OP was not driving when they took these.

Just my two cents.

OK - I think you are right . Living in Hilton Head - way to many accidents due to not concentrating on driving !! Vey scary at times - all the time!!

On a recently trip from Florida to New York, I decided to test my iPhone camera from a car traveling at 70 mph. Wow, to my surprise, not sure if I would have done any better with my DSLR.

Smart phone cameras are more than adequate for most consumers. The fact that they do so much more makes it no contest when competing with a compact camera.

They are the main reason for eroding camera sales.

Jim S, you're very observant. Of course I wasn't driving, my wife was. Who can drive at 70 mph and try to shoot pictures...

Some people do, but it tends to affect their life span :)

A Harley rider with his camera mounted to the handlebars.
I'd usually pull in the clutch and let the engine idle while snapping. ;)

Done a few with my iPhone 4. Not as good as yours, mostly trees. Also tried at night & it was a disaster. Everything moved at diffent speeds & in different directions. Looked like bunch of monkeys got into a box o crayons. Won't know what works until it's tried.
