Straightened the vertical aspects of the trees in the background. Added a small amount of vibrancy to her face. Cropped more of the horse's leg from the photo, hoping this would direct more attention to the child.

Minor adjustments to a lovely photo.

Hi! Last weekend I took pictures of this little girl in her Halloween costume with their family horse. I could edit out the yellow rope out of the original picture but it still seemed like it was missing something. I tried to add some sun rays but just not to thrilled about it. Would anyone have any other suggestions I could do with this picture to make it stand out more? Thanks everyone!!

Used lightroom to "re light" the photo adding some drama, removed the yellow rope in PS and added some gausian blur to the bottom of her dress

This one is really neat, her face stands out! Don't care too much for the border tho. :)

Was it hard to take the rope out with PS? I use digital image 10, I can do it, just takes a lot of time. :). The relighting does give it more of a fantasy look.

I like the lace floating in the back ground, I was going to do the unicorn thing, {as stated earlier} but got busy, I glad someone did it, it really makes the "fantasy"!!!
what program did you use to do that? or is it a trade secret??

Hi redhogbill no trade secret.. I use CS6 and a program called Flame Painter for the "lace" I use a narwhal tooth that I have used before to make the horse into a unicorn. You can do lots of fancy things with Flame Painter but to get what you want is trial and error...I do loads till I get the right one for the picture...

You're welcome.
I watched this thread because I wanted to learn something (I don't have anything to offer though :-) )

I think you nailed the fantasy aspect, at least to me.

Great job,

GT
