The Wedding Crashers

Who would of thought that purchasing 3 goats could cause such mischief? There are only 8 farms in the area that we live in and our goats managed to trot right on over to one that was hosting a wedding. We were away in Kelowna to pack up the last of our belongings when our daughter called with the news.
My thoughts now filled with visions of flower bouquets half eaten, a wedding dress trampled upon and the food table overturned. I was not looking forward to finding out what disaster my cute goats had created.
I walked over with a bottle of wine to apologize to our new neighbours, hoping all could be forgiven and forgotten. They were quite gracious and actually chuckled about the event.
They thought the goats were a part of the wedding since they escorted the bride's limousine down their long driveway. The goats then proceeded along the cobbled pathway to where the guests were awaiting for the ceremony to start. They stood at the makeshift altar staring down the amused guests as they took pictures of them.
The weather though turned for the worse and a downpour cancelled the wedding. Some of the guests who knew a little about goats brought them back home for us. All is well. Whew!!!
Note to self: learn all you can about goats before buying them.
I love them though and they certainly do bring excitement to a farm.

Goat Fence!! Ours were always in the Barn Yard, behind the fence, so that they would not go anywhere and get into such mischief. Funny story though! One thing that I learned about goats, They Stink! More than all the other Farm animals! Great pictures of the kids! LOL

Yup, we do have a goat fence. We had let them out to the pasture to graze. You sure do have to babysit them though. lol.
Never had goats before so it sure is a learning experience. Ivan is the stinky one. Nasty stinky when he wants to mate.
I attached a bell to Ivan so I know where they are at all times. Do you milk your goats? I'm hoping to do that eventually.

How funny and sweet!
Our son's poor little pigmy goats were eaten by a bear. Well, actually, the bear just killed them. He didn't eat them. Which is worse, I would say. It is a new homestead in the mountains of eastern PA, and we think the goat pen was on the bear's hunting route. They never were successful in catching him.

The words goat and mischief actually mean the same thing. What fun memories for the wedding party. Hope they got lots of photos.

:( What a sad story about your son's goats. We have been fortunate that our goats haven't been attacked by wild animals. My husband spotted a very large cougar by our place and bears do wander through the property. Hopefully the animals will remain safe.

I did not know that. They sure do live up to their name! lol
My neighbour did print off a couple of pictures for me. The wedding guests seemed quite amused at the goats just standing there staring at them in wonderment.
