I hope the focus and zoom rings are near the camera end. :D

Imagine trying to shoot a car race while zoomed to 1700mm. The article didn't mention what size filter it takes. I bet the case would cost more than most lenses. And how about a tripod? I'm not even going to bother looking on ebay for one.

I'd need to check another bag to Africa just for this lens and its accessories. I guess that would be a small price to pay if you can afford the lens in the first place. ..
