Why would you do such a thing to that nice a77? Are you punishing it? You don't want all the other cameras to laugh at it, do you?

My cousin is a canon film guy and has 2-35 - 105mm f3.5 lenses so I thought if I could use one on my a77 I'd buy one of his plus the adapter, but from what I have read I probably will forget about it. I did have second thoughts about even mentioning the prospect of putting such a piece of glass on the 77 now I don't even have to bother myself or the camera.

Look for a Minolta 35-105 f3.5-4.5. But look for the one with the macro switch. It's an awesome lens and you get a little macro capability to go with it. I bought mine for $68 and it was like new. Usually they go for around $150 on ebay.
