Early in my marraige I discovered that the :
"Let's not buy expensive gifts for each other and save for later" rule really meant :
"I am not getting you much, but you better get me sometning nice or I will be sooo sad and disappointed, but if you do get me something nice, you will be rewarded in other ways"
It works for me. :wink:

My husband has done a "few" things like that. Once he took me out for supper and when we left there was a new Mazda RX7 sitting in the parking lot

You are a lucky man, but my guess she is a lucky girl too. So look her in the eye and speak from your heart about your feelings toward her...We women are an emotional bunch. Then surprise her with a road trip, festival...maybe a romantic dinner you cooked? Congratulations!!!

Get used to it! From experience, the next 22 years won't be much different; those deals are always one sided, and can get/are broken by both sides for better or worse.
