Great Shot! Looks like you had a clear sky in Comanche? Was Cloudy part of the time in Carrollton - but I was able to snag this string in between the clouds..

D800 / Sigma 150-600 / Exposure: 1.3 seconds at f / 8.0 - ISO 800 Focal Length: 600mm Exposure Program: Manual, Metering Mode: Spot White Balance: Cloudy / RAW / Lightroom to Crop and Export.

Thx - you can download the single ones and look at the EXIF info for sure - I was going from memory which is NOT improving with age

I tried to take a picture every 10 minutes - had several interruptions (including 2 coyotes) - so it wasn't so precise - also had to deal with cloud cover so had to shoot when I could. I took about 200 pictures - threw away all but 20 or so then loaded the ones you see in the composite each on a separate layer in photoshop, re-sized them (made smaller) then just sort of scattered them diagonally across the screen.. Only had to watch about 25 Photoshop videos to figure out how to do it :)

Hi David,
Your geo tag shows I was just up the road from you on Kings Gate and Marsh Lane! I sure struggled with focus and cloud cover.
I like that progression shot(s)!

Like your shots! Yes it was clear until morning, then started clouding up. It produced some pretty interesting shots though! Took about 1000 so much processing to go!

Thank you! Those settings may not work for you, but I'll tell you how I took it. I have the clip "Over exposed parts of the image will flash" function on when viewing images on my camera. I just changed exposure until the white portion of the moon just started to blow out. The the iso was set to achieve a 4 second or less shutter to freeze everything. Then push the heck out of the raw file in processing!

Thank you! It's the first time I've ever been able to get stars like this without doing a composite. Any brighter moon, and this would not have happened for me!
