Question: I have a 6D and 70D, And 1.4 Tamron with a 100-600 Tamron, And a x2 canon with the Canon 400mm.5.6 What is the best combo?

The 70D is a 1.6 crop giving an increase reach. 6D is full frame not as great a reach but better quality to crop. Try both. Shoot raw for larger file and have fun.

To be honest, I can never fathom why people with that much gear, and ample time to test it out, don't know the answer to their own questions.
I assume that you want to shoot the eclipse.
Test your gear out on the full moon before it goes eclipse.
You have 12 possible gear combinations.
What type of shot do you want to take?

I repeat, what type of shot do you want to take?
Do you just want the eclipse as big as possible?
If that is the case then it is 70D, 600mm, 2x, manual focus.(that may not be your clearest image)
If you are not experienced with shooting the moon for detail, you will probably just get a white blob.
Be prepared to go to manual settings and shoot a fair bit darker than your camera is telling you to.

The 6D+1.4+150-600 Tamron.
In my Moon photo below I used the 6D+150-600 @ 600mm-no tel-extender was used.

Beautiful moon shot.
That would be a cropped image Regis.
Could you post your settings to give the OP a general idea?

Thank you very much, B Hollars. The half-moon shot shows more shadows and detail than the full moon.
