Some of these were eye-catching in terms of contrasting bark or shapes. In some cases they created portals into other worlds, or so it seemed.

Once again, I was often out early shooting with high ISOs and often slow shutter speeds, too slow for hand-held shots. Maybe one day I'll learn.

Some fine textures that can be used as backgrounds perhaps!

A nice variety of trees. The verticals really make for nice shots. The birches (aspens?) are especially nice.

Excellent set, Vicki. I agree with you re. #3. It would be a great basis for a painting. :-) :-)

I was thinking more of references for landscape paintings, but I guess we're kind of on the same page Bob. Thanks.

Thanks Pat. I've got quite an eclectic variety with more to come. Haven't decided whether I'll post grandchildren.

I don't know what those are. Maybe cottonwoods. The bark was interesting, and I liked the dark/light contrasts. Thanks Randy.

I've got an alternate view of #3 that includes a path. It will probably be what I use for the actual scene, but both will be references.

Thanks Earl. I always appreciate hearing from you.

I love trees as well Erv. I found many of these interesting in terms of bark and how it contrasted with surroundings.
