That had to be an exciting photo opp! Lived the pictures.

I recently went on a restored train ride. I loved it. Every Friday night and Saturday they do a bed and breakfast ride. Wouldn't that be fun?

I am also posting early. Busy afternoon and tomorrow is the opening day of the Fryeburg Fair and Grandson and I are hoping to find at least one ribbon on at least one of our entries...

Explored 3 places and 2 subjects this week. A luxury train of restored coach cars came to Portland this week. Each car would cost about $160-$170K before restoration. Then consider storage, security, and getting your car to starting point. Amtrak (pulled by 2 engines) charges $2.15/mile/car. I believe this excursion began in Chicago. The cars were gorgeous. I was talking to one person about my favorite car and she said, "Well, it's mine, come on in!" (My husband said I wouldn't even get close enough to a car to photo it - Ha Ha!!) The cars are immensely beautiful and referred to as "Land Yachts."

We have experienced the most extraordinary weather in the midwest plains. Corn and bean crops are huge due to timely rains that have erased most of the drought of recent times. Now the morning air is crisp and plants are alerted to move on to the pre winter phases. The New England Asters, are showing off their annual displays of colors, and the roses are still blooming and enjoy the cooler nights and days. I spend many hours in our gardens. Nothing seems to matter much while engrossed with tending the plants. All the worlds ills and political nonsense din becomes background noise and ignored. I think everyone should be gardening and perhaps the world would become a kinder place. Just dreaming I suppose. Our gardens today.

RR we took a day trip over the mountain to Teton and Yellowstone Parks. We were about 5 or 6 days late for the best color. Also the wrong time of day for wildlife. We had breakfast at the Jackson Lake Lodge, Pioneer Grill. The bend was so crowded with photographers there was no place to stop to photograph them as was Lewis Falls.

Nice series.

Your trees are farther along in color than those around me. They look so pretty. I love Indian Summer!

Did you illuminate part of that cemetery picture with a flash light or other light?

The is a not too bright street light right next to it. Using thises lights for low light shooting in the fall with all the colours can be great.
