I have a D7100 and now all of a sudden when I take a picture and then a second one I get dark one and a ok one. Now I remember some place there is a place to change that if I recall. I am hoping that some one knows where that is in the camera,
Thanks for any help

Try resetting my pressing the buttons by the green dots. That will reset to factory default.

I'm not sure I understand your description. There are a couple of settings that might be the cause here. The first is HDR (Menu: Shooting Menu:HDR High Dynamic Range), the others might be auto-bracketing (Menu:Custom Settings:Auto Bracketing Set). You can also check the BKT button on the side, next to the lens, if one of the above has been set).

Sorry but I only see a green dot on the top right side of the camera by the +/- button.

Thanks, auto-bracketing is what I was trying to remember. I will try those. Thanks. I am on my way off to the Mohegan Sun for a little fun. Thanks Will give those a try on Wed when I get back.

Look on the back - lower left corner.

Hold in the BKT button on the side. You should see what its current setting are on the LCD screen on top. While holding in the button rotate the main command dial until the number of shots in zero.

I have been getting a few dark/black photos as well on my D7100 and just put it down to camera not being focused properly and deleted them. All other photos are good. Will have a look at suggestions above. Thanks.

Are the dark image and the "OK" image both the exact same shot? I know this may sound too obvious but perhaps you are not used to shooting Raw format and what you are seeing is the raw image (which most probably needs some post processing) and its companion .jpg image (the .jpg is an auto-corrected image). Just a possibility.

Fred, The HDR is off The Auto Bracketing Set is AE only and the BKT is on of 0.3

If it's still bracketing shots hold in the BKT button and rotate the rear command dial until the number of shots is zero. It should show it on the top LCD screen. Rotating the front command dial sets the exposure increments.

Thanks for all the help folks. Seems to be ok now but I know that I did this all once before so I will watch a bit better that I do not hit any thing to change settings. Again thanks all everyone's help.
