Hi loperR - I'm 99% sure it will not fit on the 5DII. The plates are custom designed for the size of the body and the layout of the terminal connections providing access to the terminal cover on the side of the camera. RRS lists a seperate part for the 5DII that is distinct from the 5DIII and the 7D parts. They even have a new L-plate for the 7D2.
