Great set Marilyn, love the alpacas. These look so smart and handsome not like the wild ones I saw in Peru, running around all raggy and tatty!! :-D

Thank you Syl. They Shear them in april and May here. A big moneymaker for the owners. They have a shearer come in and it cost $25 @ animal.

You had a fun day, Mare! Those alpacas are adorable! We had a fun day, too. Hopefully pictures will follow but maybe not tonight; I'm soooo tired!

I am glad i went, saw a lot of things - talked to a lot of owners, and yes it was fun. They were a very down to earth crowd.
send me a link when you get posted Sue.
Those little alpacas are just the cutest! Always a smile on their faces and the little bucked teeth add to their character. Look so sweet and adorable.

Someone has never been spit on by an Alpaca... Oddly enough, it smells pretty much like the stuff that comes out the other end.
His name is Pita and yes, it's an acronym which I will leave to your imagination.
Most of them are pretty cute and well behaved. We also have one that is brown and black like the first one in set #2 (I believe). My wife gave him to our son in law after he named him Shocktop. Who names an animal after beer? :)

LOL
that could be the reason Heaven had given them a wide berth after first meeting them.
she stood back in her corner and watched from afar!

This morning i attended the Alpaca fair in the next town over.
Many animals ( alpacas ) in enclosures to be shown.
I was disappointed in the lack of saleable items( gloves- scarves- etc etc) being sold.
The Rovings were more along the lines of natural fibers instead of colorful dyed rovings that one could and would use to make their items with.
The people i spoke with welcomed me to take pictures. So be prepared to see their livestock.
Number 1 photo could read, "Is it daylight yet?" :)

Do alpacas make good house pets? I'll dig into my piggy bank also we can get two for the price of one. We have to haggle the seller.
