I use a Canon Rebel T2i. I know nothing about the camera other than to use the preset settings. I enjoy taking pictures. Flowers being my favorite subject.

The moose shot is very cre8iv, It took me a little while to figure out what it is. When I did i loved it. I'm partial to abstract images. your second flower shot is slightly out of focus. for macro shots I would recomend a tripod. First shot I like. I thought about sugesting some criopping but realized that the trees in the distance adds depth and color contrast. good luck

a single leg tripod is called a monopod. and no it is not as stable but is better than handholding. because you shoot macro with such tiny depth of field the slightest jerk or camera movement can throw off your focus
if I am really tryin' to get a close up and can do it I use a tripod and a shutter release, some say to use mirror lock up also, but I haven't done that..
You can take many nice photos in auto with the T2i however if you read the manual and learn what the different settings will do, then the good photos become great photos.
I use the presets on my camera as well, just trying to learn the ropes, and mine has a macro setting which I adore. I like the moose shot. Makes me want to know more about that moose :)

What is mirror lock up? How do you do it, and what are the supposed effects?
