Note the odd coloration of the Blue Heron. Is this a result of incorrect white balance?

I have no idea what that is.
Auto WB?
Sun?
Shade?

I can't answer intelligently exactly what Auto WB is on the camera. The bird blue heron is in the shade. The other bird is in sunshine (hazy, humid day).

How are the other colors in the 'blue bird' pic? Are they 'off,' too?
They look OK to me, but - Captain Obvious speaking - I wasn't there.
Male & female birds? Not the same bird in both pix?
I'm really clueless why only the bird would have a color cast.
If there is some area in the pic that is supposed to be white, you should be able to use that area to color correct the pic in most any PP program.
"Same settings, same day" Is it the same bird?

Thank you. Your comments are much appreciated. As to the eggs, they were everywhere on everything that didn't move. I have no idea what they were and would like to know.

The egg cases are Apple Snails, favorite food of the limpkin.
