O.K. Here goes: I shoot with a Sony a580. On this day (this Saturday morning), I was using my Sony 300mm lens from about 8 feet away shooting through a patio door facing east. Right now I am having terrible fringing problems with this lens. It is Sony's low end lends but it should be better than this. I need to send it in for calibration but I am reluctant to do so because I know they will want my camera also. My daughter has my back up camera and she won't let me have it back.

Anyway, with the lighting such as it is, I normally shoot with the aperture wide open which is between F4.5-F5.6. However today I was playing around with the aperture between F7-F11 and changing the ISO anywhere between ISO !00 and 400. Constantly changing the shutter speeds accordingly. Since the sun was rising, everything was changing from one minute to the next. I was shooting in manual mode which is my normal M.O. At this distance, fringing is not a problem but I can tell. The purpose of Saturday's exercise was to see what the effects that the higher F stops had on the bokah.
