I didn't realize they hung out in trees. Most of the shots I've ever seen they are feeding in shallow water. Nice shots.
Are you finding the birds on inland ponds or out in costal marsh? I have not seen any so far down here about 100 mi south of you.

They are making a comeback in south Florida but in my area they are still pretty rare. Only seen 2 so far this year. Thanks for showing what they look like up close.

Great shots. I always enjoy photographing the rosette spoonbills when we go to Sanibel Island.

These are all at an inland marsh. the water levels have dropped because of the lack of rain and they have moved in. there are about 15 of them in this particular area. there are also quite a few of them @ Ft. DeSoto Park which is along the Gulf Of Mexico.
