I want to photograph Angkor Wat at sunrise in March. Not sure where to start. Should I set my Fstop to 16 and go from there if I takea tripod a ?
Should I also alter the white balance? I'm new at this. Thanks

Krimbert, once you decide on a suitible exposure, and you wont know that till you are there, I would bracket the shot on a tripod.
That will give you several exposure options as well as the option to do HDR.
I would take a shot on auto and chimp from there.
Angkor Wat, and the six others that make up that complex are a photographers paradise, as is Lake Tonle Sap. ;-)

I would suggest checking Photographer's Ephemeris for the dates that you're going to be there to determine position/time of sunrise in relation to your subject. We got some really nice shots there at sunset, but our guide knew when and where to set up.

I just checked and, if I recall correctly, the main temple will be back lit if approached from the usual entrance across the water.

I face east, live in a high rise and face a city park. I use bracketing and HDR and shoot in RAW.
Example of a "pre" sunrise picture.
I used a 10-22 canon lens on this these but my best are using a 24-70. Always use a tripod and shutter set for a delay of at least 2 seconds. Opening the 10-22 near the 10 mark, backs the picture up but it suffers with distortion on the sides. Cropping can correct this. I have also panned the sunset with 3 sets of HRD shots to eventually produce a panoramic picture.

Here is what google shows as a sunrise photo there. As Sharpshooter suggested, I think bracketing and HDR might serioulsy have helped this image. It looks rather flat to me.

Photographer's Ephemeris available as both an Ios and Android app.

Do you mean..take an automatic shot and go from there with my adjustments? That's what I would do with my limited experience.
Thank you

I agree...hope I get something with more color. I have changed the WB before to cloudy and achieved more color and drama.
