I think I am to old to appreciate all photo matrix has to offer - but I do like the red truck - or maybe it's just that I can understand the picture. The train has me confused. Sorry, I sure it's just me - and my opinion plus $5.00 will not get you a cup of coffee.
I may be older LOL but you right it would take
I may be Older LOL and you are right it would take $5.00 for a cup of coffee I remember 10 cent coffee wow there is not a cent symbol on the keyboard I remember those on type writers LOL
Great selection of topics. I'm a railfan myself. The C&O ppassenger car looks like it is a flying suacer. Blottom bright top dark. Should be reversed. I would also try to get both ends of car in picture and crop. Your red Narrow gauge steamer is spot on: really nice picture; well composed and interesting

Here are a few pics I have done with photo matrix wanted to get some opinions.
I like the way you have highlighted the truck, but I wish the interesting man in the background were brought out more and I'd like to see more of the texture of the old siding on the building.
These are really vibrant and cool looking. As my sons would say, " they are sick!"
That first photo of the mill is amazing thats HDR done right!
the mill was was not a HDR in fact it was a old point and shoot the Photo matrix program did all the contrast and colour it was a one button push effect. I was amazed myself In fact I don't share that with everyone LOL . I sent two more here done with the same camera and they are my biggest sellers right now at a gallery that sells my prints. I took these between my film days and digital, now I shoot with all digital and dslr.

how much does the matrix cost and where can I get it?
It is about $100 and can be found here
www.hdrsoft.comThere are a ton of photographers who list it on their sites and if you buy from that localation you can get a small discount.
http://captainkimo.com/hdr-software-review-comparisonthe above will link you to the top 10 hdr software. Each has it's own strengths and weakness. Photomatrix is probrably the most popluar.
I am in the process of testing a program called Photoengine which has been interesting possibilities.
None of these programs should be taken as a one click "pony". HDR as anyother technique takes time and practice to become great.
Most have a trial download for testing out which suits your style before purchase.
ALso, most images if not all are tweaked after the merge in another program; i.e. Elements, PS,etc.
My favorite is the third photo.
I love the old truck but what makes that picture
for me is the gentleman sitting on the bench.
He is exactly what I picture the driver of the truck to look like!
Outstanding photo!!
I love the shot of the truck and being a locomotive engineer for CSX, I have to love the old C&O pic.
Here is one of my favorite CSX pic

ok, stupid question but what is the Photomatrix? .... and do I have to follow the white rabbit? LOL
Photomatix is a program for creating HDR (High Dynamic Range) photos:
http://www.hdrsoft.com/ . . . there are several programs on the market that perform this operation, but Photomatix is one of the most popular. You will see images from the detailed real-look to the artsy saturated look. It's all in the eye of the viewer as to which you prefer. And there are different schools of thought on this that have caused heated debates. Google HDR images and you'll see more than you'd expect. As well, see here:

A little something I did recently. Just outside my front door.

I like all of them Dave. Keep em comin'!
