Did you take the guided tour through the valley or go on your own? So far twice I've turned around at the entrance fee gate.

I was there about 5 times and I always went by myself. the road in the park is just terrible but you are on your own you can drive around in most areas and stay all day. I got cheated once, I was suppose to go in at 5 am with a guide who would drive me to places where I am not allowed to drive by myself. I was stupid enough to pay him the night before, I was there at 5am but Tony was not, never showed up. At 6am I explained at the gate what happened and the lady was very nice about and let me drive by myself into the restricted area. I didn't mind the $75. but my wife keep on saying, I told you so.

Very nice captures with great clouds which make all the difference from run-of-the-mill shots.

Simply an outstanding series Mike! I love the Southwest, but have never made it to M. Valley. After seeing your pics, I am all the more determined to visit.

Great shots Mike, the key is the clouds, have only been there a couple times when there were clouds.
I have been there several times and have almost gotten frostbite getting the sunrise shots but then the Valley View Hotel was built. I may have missed someone commenting on it but if you go, stay there, reservations can be tough to get but that sunrise shot can be gotten now from your room balcony, with a a cup of coffee. All rooms face the valley and the sunrises are spectacular.

Oh My Goodness these are so beautiful! Monument Valley is on my bucket list, I'm just not sure how one goes about getting there!

We flew to Las Vegas then drove to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon, then Zion and then to Moab to photo Arches then down to Monument Valley.

There is so much to see in Southern Utah and Northern Arizona. One could easily spend months there.
